As a Senior Marketing Strategist at Big Sea, I help B2B clients find new and innovative ways to use their digital strategy that connect to their key business objectives and drive growth.
I’m a career-long B2B marketer with both client- and agency-side experience. After earning a BA in Speech at Marquette University and an MBA in Marketing at the University of Minnesota, I worked in field sales, product management, and corporate sales and marketing before starting my own marketing practice to facilitate the demands of my young family. Over those years I completed projects for a wide variety of small businesses and large companies that included Deluxe, MetLife, Medtronic, UnitedHealth Group and Wells Fargo.
In 2016, I jumped to agency Hanley Wood Marketing, where I was the primary marketing and brand strategist for 3M, working on everything from medical devices to commercial cleaning supplies to groundbreaking technology for automotive electrification. Along the way, I picked up a number of awards for my Hanley Wood contributions, as well as a BlogHer Voices of the Year award for a post on the fear of teens to escalate or seek intervention for a friend in crisis.
After a brief foray back into corporate marketing at an emerging e-commerce company, I’m excited to be at Big Sea and in an environment where I can do the strategy and messaging work I love.
So what do I love about this work? The challenge of applying both right- and left-brain thinking to deep analysis and customer insight to produce a unique approach with a creative expression that matches the brand.
When I’m not working I’m traveling, watching live music – or traveling to watch live music – hiking the national parks, gardening, weight training, or practicing yoga on my deck (Minnesota weather permitting.)
