My passion for Advertising started at a young age when I was collecting Absolut Vodka print ads and hanging them on my bedroom wall. Absolut (BLANK) on the bottom of the ad with the bottle doing something fun in the middle of the page. “Absolut Perfect” with the Original bottle and a halo on top was one of my favorites. Considering I wasn’t the creative type, I decided Media was definitely more my speed.
My 20+ Media career started in NYC working for McCann Erickson before Digital Media was a thing. I quickly became enamored and made the move to TBWA Chiat/Day where my love of Absolut came full circle and trafficked the first 300×250 banner ad for Absolut Vodka to RollingStone.com. Things have certainly changed since then.
While I grew up in Digital Media, I also saw the importance of understanding all Media channels. I helped to build the first Integrated team for Diageo at Mediacom where I learned the ins and outs of “traditional” media. This certainly broadened my perspective of Media overall and helped me to continue that path at KSL Media where I ran the Bacardi account. While I loved Spirit advertising, I knew it was time to broaden my horizon. In 2013, I started at PHD Media as their Digital Director overseeing GSK, Carnival Cruise Lines, Starbucks, HBO and American Signature Furniture. I loved being back on the Digital side, but I quickly got pulled back into the world Integrated Media for GSK Consumer and Rx where I was the Managing Director, Integrated Investment.
The launch of GSK’s allergy drug Flonase from an Rx to a OTC was one of the best campaigns I have ever worked on. It combined working closely with the Brand, Strategy, Creative, PR and Marketing Sciences to deliver what we set out to do – make it the most impactful creative Media launch ever. They sold out of the product within a week, so I say we did our job. It also received many accolades but specifically for the partnership with The Weather Channel.
I am extremely excited to join Big Sea and move to St. Pete. I grew up on a beach, I love the water and cannot wait to trade my puffy coat for t-shirts and shorts.
