As a kid, I created fake ads for fun, so studying Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Central Florida was a natural fit. Upon graduation, I was eager for something that was more creative and hands-on. A close friend recommended the design program at Valencia College. While I was studying there, I served tables at Buca di Beppo. In a serendipitous twist of fate, I met the owner of the restaurant and through that meeting was offered a design internship in the corporate offices of Buca, Planet Hollywood and Earl of Sandwich. By day I learned the ropes of corporate design and by night I slung massive bowls of pasta.
After school, I traveled to London and secured a spot as a junior designer with Newl&Potter. I was fortunate enough to work on designs for the 2012 Olympics, Tesco and De Vere Hotels.
When I found my way back to the States I continued to develop as a designer. I spent three years at ThinkTank, and during that time I discovered my interest and aptitude for leadership. I grew from a designer, to lead designer, to Creative Director. Joining forces with Big Sea and managing our expanded creative team has been by far the most rewarding aspect of my professional career.
Outside of the office I don’t stray far from design. I am passionate about developing my pattern portfolio. If I’m not drawing, painting or working on layouts you’ll likely find me with my head in a book or biking around downtown with my wife, Jessi, and our rescue, Penny.
