As Content and SEO Director at Big Sea, my job is to ensure that the content we create exemplifies your brand’s values and supports its mission. I also oversee organic search optimization at every level, from the technical performance of your site to on-page optimization, like keyword and search query targeting, internal and external linking, and competitive analysis.
My love for SEO started at the end of my academic career. I was working as an English Professor and moonlighting with Big Sea as a freelance copywriter, with the goal of transitioning into data analytics. I found my way into SEO because it offered an opportunity to sharpen my copywriting and data analysis skills simultaneously.
I stayed in SEO because I came to understand how search engines work to promote trustworthy, authoritative content that provides meaningful answers to people’s questions. As a passionate educator and expert in mixed methods research myself, I’m very grateful to live in a time when search engines make so much quality information freely available to everyone, and I’m thrilled to be part of expanding that knowledge base.
In my free time, I enjoy gaming, gardening, and hanging out with my dog, Morris.
