Google Partners is an Adwords certification program for advertising agencies, marketing professionals and consultants that identifies experts in their field. To qualify, an agency not only has to pass rigorous tests, but their account has to be analyzed by Google itself to make sure they’re following best practices and getting results for they’re clients.
So what does it take to be a Google Partner, and why should you choose to work with one?

To become a Google Partner, first we had to take exams. At least one person at our agency needed to be Adwords certified by passing the Adwords Fundamentals Exam along with an additional test in the concentration of Search Advertising, Display Advertising, Mobile Advertising, Video Advertising, or Shopping Advertising. We don’t just have one person who’s passed – we’ve got three and more on the way. Through these tests, we’ve demonstrated that we’ve mastered the essentials covered in the Google certification exams and that we’re maximizing our clients’ campaign performance.
We also had to use Adwords and use it right. Having an active and healthy book of business lets Google know that our agency will stand the test of time. They checked our AdWords manager account for several indicators of business health, including that we are following best practices. Our client accounts were analyzed to make sure they were getting excellent service, including the type and frequency of the changes we’re making, client retention, and whether we’re making the most of our clients’ budgets.
We passed the Best Practices portion of the Partner Status in all areas: Search Network, Display Network, YouTube Advertising, and Customer Care. Hooray!
